LeBron James' 2 crucial mistakes cost Lakers Game 4 against Timberwolves

9 hours ago 1

LeBron James held the ball in his hands with an inbound pass coming and the Lakers down by one.

There were 30 seconds on the clock, and 17 seconds on the shot clock.

The all-time great made a lazy bounce pass, and Jaden McDaniels stole it.

Then, 20 seconds later, James whacked Anthony Edwards on the arm just before Edwards slipped and fell.

A replay review confirmed it was a foul on James, and Edwards made both foul shots.

On the final possession, James made the extra pass to Austin Reaves, who missed an attempt at a game-tying 3-pointer.

Instead of a potential Lakers win, Los Angeles fell to the Timberwolves to fall behind 3-1 in the first-round series.

The 3-seed Lakers are a game away from going home at the hands of 6-seed Minnesota.

All told, James had a strong night.

He scored 27 points with 12 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks.

He shot 5-for-9 from the floor (2-4 3FG) and a ridiculous 15-for-18 from the foul line.

But that will all be forgotten because of his third, and worst, turnover of the game, followed by an unfortunate foul call.

James stayed on-brand and didn't force the last shot, instead swinging it to his more open teammate, but that didn't work out, either.

And now, the 40-year old will have to be Superman or the Lakers' season will end this week.
