The Philadelphia Eagles continue to court controversy for the non-calls their "tush push"/"Brotherly Shove" generates.

During the first quarter of Monday's game at the Green Bay Packers, the defending champions ran such a play. At least two linemen were spotted moving before the snap, yet no penalty was issued:

Much fan condemnation occurred as a result:

@MySportsUpdate League is rigged

@MySportsUpdate Ban the play if the refs cant officiate it

I seriously hope NFL owners get together and ban the Tush Push period. It's getting outrageous.

Yeah this shit is 100% banned next year lmfao

WE DONT EVEN NEED IT BANNED BUT MY GOD FIX IT. Make it an official rule that it is immediately reviewed after and is the only play that they can call penalties (for either team) AFTERRR the play is done. Otherwise you are legit letting them cheat EVERY GAME. #NFL #NFLREFS @NFL

Notably, during the offseason, the Packers led an unsuccessful attempt to get the "tush push" banned. General manager Brian Gutekunst explained:

"I think the medical professionals of the league had high concerns about putting players in a position to (suffer) catastrophic injuries. I think this is something that needs to be discussed and we need to be proactive about it rather than reactive."

The first proposal was presented in Palm Beach in March, and was tabled. Later, a revised proposal was submitted for the Minneapolis meetings in May. It now read, "Offensive players cannot assist the runner except by individually blocking opponents for him," and the "immediately at the snap" part was removed.

The proposal would eventually fail after only 22 teams voted for it - two short of the required majority.
