NFL fans had a lot to say about the Las Vegas Raiders' recent decisions about Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers. Both players were placed on injured reserve ahead of a crucial Week 17 duel for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 draft against the New York Giants.

The second-year tight end was placed on IR due to a knee issue he had been dealing with all season long. Crosby was shut down for the rest of the season for a similar issue, which didn't sit well with the veteran defensive end.

These two were the only few bright spots the Raiders had in 2025, and not seeing them on the field rubbed some fans the wrong way. Reporter Ari Meirov shared a picture of a poster searching for Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers, who were both healthy five days ago.

The comment section was flooded by fans noting that the Raiders were all-in for that No. 1 pick.

"Lmao they want that 1st pick by any means necessary! I can’t blame them, go get Mendoza!" another fan said.

"Raiders just want Mendoza," another fan said.

Raiders just want Mendoza 😬

Others argued that the Giants were as eager as the Raiders to get that first overall selection.

"What a waste of time.. they should flip a coin for who wins," one fan suggested. "Giants just put 6 players on IR…" another fan said. "Now do one for the entire Giants injury report," another fan said.

There is a lot at stake in this game, as both teams would benefit a lot from that first overall selection. Indiana Hoosiers' Fernando Mendoza has earned a lot of fans around the league and many want to land him in April.

However, it seems like there will be only two paths for the Heisman award winner if he declares for next year's draft.

Maxx Crosby took issue with Raiders decision to shut him down

Maxx Crosby made headlines on Friday when NFL insider Jay Glazer reported he walked out on the Raiders after he was informed he was done for the season. Pete Carroll praised the defensive end for his performances while sharing details about how Crosby handled the situation.

He played 15 games in 2025, recording 73 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception for 19 yards.
