The Baltimore Ravens suffered a major blow in Week 16 that involved their star quarterback, Lamar Jackson. After fighting through an illness and missing Wednesday's practice, he still suited up to play against the New England Patriots in Week 16.
However, his presence on the field was short-lived on Sunday. In the second quarter, Lamar Jackson took a hit to his back during a play from Patriots safety Craig Woodson. The quarterback exited the field to be checked by the medical staff.
Now, according to an update by NFL insider Adam Schefter, the two-time NFL MVP might not return for the remainder of the game.

In another clip shared on social media, the Ravens quarterback was visibly frustrated with his injury while making his way to the locker room. Before being replaced by backup Tyler Huntley, he completed seven of 10 passes for 101 yards.
Back in Week 4, Jackson had suffered a hamstring injury during their 37-20 loss to the Chiefs. This sidelined him for three games before making his comeback in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins.
So far this season, the quarterback has tallied 2,210 yards and 18 TDs passing while rushing for 333 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson has thrown six interceptions while being sacked a total of 33 times on the field.
The Ravens are currently placed second in the AFC North behind the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 7-7 record. Last week, they secured a dominating 24-0 whitewash victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. In that game, Lamar Jackson completed eight of 12 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
