Ryan Gerard has secured a berth at the Masters 2026 despite a heartbreaking playoff loss at the Mauritius Open. The 26-year-old will be in action at the Augusta National as his performance helped him seal the spot.

Ryan Gerard entered the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open ranked 27th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). Over the four days, he shot 68, 69, 63, and 66 to finish as the leader in regulation. However, Jayden Schaper's last-round brilliance forced a playoff. After tying the first hole, Gerard fell short on the second extra hole.

The second-place finish helped Gerard jump eleven spots to 47th in the latest OWGR. Notably, the top 50 players at the end of 2025 will receive an invitation to the Masters 2026. This means the one-time PGA Tour winner will be making his debut at Augusta National Golf Club in April.

On the other hand, Schaper fell short of a Masters 2026 invitation despite winning in back-to-back weeks. After his win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, he moved to 94th, and the Mauritius Open win helped him jump to 64th.

Speaking of Gerard, the young golfer had a memorable season on the PGA Tour. He missed just five cuts in 29 starts this year and posted four top-ten finishes. He also claimed his maiden win at the Barracuda Championship 2025 and qualified for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Gerard was eliminated at the BMW Championship and finished 39th in the standings. The young golfer ended the year with season earnings of $3,872,916.
