Lamar Jackson is back on a football field. That's the good news.
His status for Week 8's Baltimore Ravens game against the Chicago Bears? Still in question.
But it's one step at a time for the mobile quarterback trying to make it back from a hamstring injury.
Jackson hadn't been on the field in 24 days before returning to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday.
The Ravens' remaining practice reports this week should be informative as far as Jackson's status this week goes.

Is Lamar Jackson playing this week?
Jackson has a better chance to play in Week 8 than he has the past few weeks.
The superstar didn't practice at all since his hamstring injury in Week 4 against the Chiefs, until his limited participation on Wednesday.
When asked Jackson's chances of playing this week, Ravens coach John Harbaugh told ESPN's Jamison Hensley, "It's hard to put a number on it. It's part of the process now. I really don't have any shareable injury intelligence for you at this point."
If Jackson gets back to action, he's an automatic start in fantasy football leagues. He was drafted too high with too much expectation to wait at all on getting him back into the lineup.
If Jackson plays, the Ravens will certainly use him heavily. They're 1-5, and they can't afford any more losses if they want to stage a big turnaround.
His return would also be a boost for WR1 Zay Flowers, who is a fantasy starter for sure when Jackson is playing. Tight end Mark Andrews is unplayable with Cooper Rush, but he too can get into lineups if Jackson is back.
