Lakers' Rui Hachimura reacts to Doja Cat dating rumors

Los Angeles Lakers star Rui Hachimura has reacted to the viral rumors linking him to Doja Cat. 

The speculation tying the NBA forward, 27, to the Grammy winner, 30, picked up steam after the Instagram account Durant posted a photo showing a smiling Hachimura with his arm wrapped around the "Paint the Town Red" rapper. 

The IG user captioned the January 28 post, "RUMOR: Doja Cat & Rui Hachimura are allegedly dating after fans have been speculating that she’s dating an NBA player 👀. Are they a good couple? 🤔 💭 ⬇️." 

The post quickly generated more than 67,000 likes and 2,200 comments as of Friday morning. One of the best comments left on the post was from Hachimura himself who wrote, "Mann f--- no😂."

Fans react to the Doja Cat dating rumors 

While the Lakers star is clearly not interested in the singer, others thought the two would make a great couple.

"I can't lie I hope this is true," one user commented. 

"Ooh they cute together," another gushed.

"That actually makes sense," someone else raved. 

Hachimura has tried to maintain a low-profile since being selected as the 9th overall pick in the first round by the Washington Wizards in 2019. Rumors have linked him to Los Angeles fitness influencer Briana Delgado since 2021, however, he's stayed mum on dating life, prior to denying the Doja Cat rumors. 

Meanwhile, Doja Cat - who will take the stage during the FIFA Club World Cup Final - is rumored to be dating "Stranger Things" actor Joseph Quinn. While the pair have never confirmed the relationship, the two were spotted packing on the PDA in London back in 2024. 

A photo shared by Deuxmoi via Instagram in August 2024 showed the rumored couple cozying up together and holding hands while exploring London’s Camden neighborhood.
