Lakers’ Luka Dončić is ‘big fan’ of Fever’s Caitlin Clark

INDIANAPOLIS — WNBA star Caitlin Clark was getting up shots on Wednesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse — but not the ones most are accustomed to seeing from her when she’s inside the arena.

The Fever guard worked as a credentialed photographer for the Pacers during their 137-130 loss to the Lakers.

Wearing the standard photographer’s vest, Clark was spotted alongside the baseline underneath the basket closest to the Pacers bench and appeared to take a picture of Lakers star Luka Dončić while Andrew Nembhard was shooting free throws midway through the second quarter.

Dončić said he saw Clark inside of the arena at one point but didn’t notice she was working as a photographer.

The Slovenian star was a little busy leading the Lakers to their 13th win in their last 15 games, recording 43 points, seven assists and six rebounds to help his team close out its six-game trip on a high note.

Luka Doncic says he didn't see Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark taking photos baseline, but said he's a "big fan" of hers.

Luka: "I watch a lot of games. Definitely her hooping, it's great to watch." He added that he wants to go to one of her games. https://t.co/6pg6WZhALu pic.twitter.com/UAiqUAJecy

Even though Dončić said he doesn’t have a relationship with Clark, he acknowledged being a “big fan” of her game and expressed a desire to watch her play live.

“I watch a lot of games,” Dončić said. “Her hooping, it’s great to watch. So, for sure, I’m going to a game to see her.”

Two of the best chances for Dončić to watch Clark play, depending on the Lakers’ potential playoff schedule, could come when the Fever visit Los Angeles when they play the Sparks on May 13 and July 8.

Clark, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft who rose to fame through her record-breaking college career at Iowa, is entering her third season with the Fever.

She’s a two-time WNBA All-Star, was the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and was named All-WNBA first team in 2024 as a rookie.

Clark made her senior Team USA debut earlier in the month in the FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament.

She was named the MVP of the World Cup qualifiers in Puerto Rico after averaging 11.6 points and a team-high 6.4 assists en route to Team USA’s 5–0 record.

As for Clark’s photography?

“Got some good stuff coming,” she shared on X.
