The news comes fast and furious during the 2026 NBA Draft, but it takes a little while for trades to become official.
On Wednesday, a move that was initially reported during Tuesday night's first round finally became real. It involves the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns.
It's not necessarily new news, but it's now all spelled out.
The deal centers around the 24th, 25th and 30th picks.
The first piece is the Lakers moving up to the No. 24 slot to take Cameron Carr out of Baylor. L.A. was in the 25th spot originally but moved up one spot to get the Knicks' original 24th pick and take Carr.
The Knicks at 25 appeared to take Spanish guard Sergio De Larrea, but New York didn't stay there. They traded twice more.
In the end, Dallas got De Larrea, who may be stashed in Europe for one more year but will eventually be a solid shooter in the NBA.
The Suns ended up with the 30th pick, where they got Koa Peat out of Arizona.
In all their moving down, the Knicks got multiple second-round picks.

Because of how the NBA does things, it can be tricky to keep track of all the moving. Players wear the hat of teams that had the pick originally, rather than the reported new squad.
Eventually, everyone winds up in the right place.
For now, the key parts are Carr to the Lakers, De Larrea to the Mavs, Peat to the Suns and a bunch of picks to the Knicks, and it's official.
