The Dallas Mavericks spent all of last season without Kyrie Irving after the superstar guard suffered a torn left ACL in 2025. Now, the franchise has received a significant boost regarding his recovery.

NBA insider Shams Charania recently confirmed that Irving has fully completed his rehabilitation process and has made a complete recovery from the devastating knee injury.

“From my understanding, he’s fully recovered 100% with that ACL tear from a couple of seasons ago. He’s been fully entrenched in the Mavericks plans this offseason,” Charania said.

“Him and Dusty May, they’ve spoken. Him and Masai Ujiri, the new president, they’ve spoken. Mike Schmitz, their new general manager, has spoken.”

Irving originally suffered the injury after colliding knees with Sacramento Kings center Jonas Valanciunas. The impact caused his left leg to hyperextend awkwardly before he collapsed to the floor in obvious pain.

The veteran guard later underwent successful surgery in March to repair the torn ACL in his left knee. Before the injury, Irving was enjoying an outstanding 2024-25 campaign, averaging 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game while serving as one of Dallas' primary offensive leaders.

Without Irving in the lineup, the Mavericks struggled throughout last season. Dallas finished 12th in the Western Conference with a disappointing 26-56 record, falling well short of postseason contention.

Now fully recovered, Irving appears ready to resume his role as one of the Mavericks' franchise cornerstones entering the 2026-27 season. He has already been working closely with head coach Dusty May and the front office as the organization looks to bounce back from a difficult year.
