Kyle Pitts rips NFLers who skipped Rondale Moore’s celebration of life: ‘Fake emotion’

Kyle Pitts is taking names.

The Falcons tight end was taking attendance and called out those NFL players who did not show up to late Vikings receiver Rondale Moore’s memorial service Friday.

Following the service for Moore, who died suddenly in February at just 25, Pitts took to his Instagram to note that only six or seven of Moore’s teammates were there and suggested some of those who paid tribute but were no-shows displayed “fake emotion” in doing just that.

“Crazy how only about 6 or 7 of your teammates in the NFL showed up for you today smfh.. All that talk and fake emotion and nobody want to show up to lay you to rest.. Just at a loss of words,” Pitts wrote on his Instagram story with a picture of the service information that included photos of Moore.

“Be woke on who your ‘Brothers’ really are, who really rock with you in all areas of life and not just in front of the cameras or in public! Folks jut want to throw up a post and not mean it but we ball yb as Kur said “it might hurt a little” but we Ball[4],” Pitts added.

Pitts didn’t reveal publicly which players were in attendance and those who were not.

Moore died of what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Many paid tribute to the third-year wideout on social media but some seemingly didn’t go to the memorial, at least according to Pitts.

The five-year tight end also shared a story that displayed a similar message.

“If you ever thought people care about you think again,” the message read. “Everything on this earth is pointless and temporary. Trying to gain the approval of humans is even more pointless and will only lead to despair. It’s easy for people to talk but its not easy to show up. Your relationship with God is the most important thing to focus on in this life. God will always show up for you no matter the circumstances. Put your faith in God not in man. Because when you are gone. Man will forget you just like that. Never stop pouring into other peoples cups, but never expect anything in return.”

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown later revealed that he spoke with Moore just hours before the unfortunate incident.

“Bro ain’t no way brotha you just messaged me [a] few hours ago,’ the Chiefs receiver wrote. ‘You [weren’t] alone bro.. I told you I know how you feel.”

Moore was drafted in the second round (49th overall) by the Cardinals in the 2021 draft and spent three years in Arizona, where he and Brown were teammates in 2022 and ’23.

He missed the entire 2025 season with the Vikings due to a knee injury suffered during the preseason.
