The Knicks lost their first real chance to take complete control of the NBA Finals.

Now they have to make sure they don’t give the Spurs all of it back.

After dropping Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks enter Wednesday night’s Game 4 in New York with a 2-1 series lead and a chance to move within one win of its first championship since 1973.

Jalen Brunson’s shot-making got the Knicks here, but his volume has started to work against them in this series, which is why I’m expecting the offense to come from elsewhere in Game 3.

Despite Brunson taking 27 shots per game in this series, the Knicks’ OG Anunoby has still found ways to put up points.

Anunoby has scored at least 17 points in every game this series while having put up no more than 13 attempts in any game.

In Game 3, Anunoby scored 28 points on 9-of-13 from the floor, using his combination of size and shooting to take advantage of a Spurs roster that has trouble with his skillset.

It’s a trend that’s held all postseason for Anunoby, having averaged 19.9 points per game during these playoffs.

Even so, oddsmakers are pegging Anunoby’s points total at just 15.5, which is a number he’s topped in all but three postseason games during this run.

Betting on the NBA?

With a more balanced attack likely to come Wednesday night, look for Anunoby to fill up the box score as the Knicks try to go up 3-1 in the series.

The play: OG Anunoby to score more than 15.5 points (-125, BetMGM Sportsbook)
