Knicks talking to multiple teams about a Guerschon Yabusele trade

The New York Knicks have made headlines recently for all sorts of reasons. Coaching concerns have surfaced as the Knicks have now lost four consecutive games after Monday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

The losing streak brings them to nine losses in their last 11 games, dropping further down in the Eastern Conference standings, now tied for third with the Toronto Raptors.

As a result, trade rumors continue to surround the team. Although Karl-Anthony Towns name has been mentioned as being monitored by other teams, to see him moved prior to the Feb. 5 trade deadline would be a shock.

That said, the team has been rumored to be shopping French big man Guerschon Yabusele for a while now. According to NBA insider Stefan Bondy, the Knicks are actively talking to multiple teams about a possible deal involving Yabusele.

Originally viewed as a steal, signing for less than $12 million combined over two seasons, things haven't quite panned out for him in New York.

After posting a career-high 11 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Philadelphia 76ers last season, Yabusele is averaging 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in just under 10 minutes per game.

Given his lack of production in a reserve role, it seems all but a foregone conclusion that Yabusele will be moved.

However, New York will have to work hard to find the best deal for him, as there are few impact players available who can match salaries with Yabusele at such a low price point.

They may settle on moving him for second round draft consideration and look to use the roster spot for potential buy-out candidates.
