Knicks superfan Ben Stiller slams Celtics reporter over 'cockroaches' comment

The Boston Celtics fourth-quarter collapse on Wednesday night wasn’t just painful — it was historic.

After blowing a 20-point lead and falling 91–90 to the New York Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Celtics now find themselves in an unexpected 0–2 hole as the series heads to Madison Square Garden. The stunning loss left fans in disbelief — and Chris Forsberg and Kayla Burton, the co-hosts of NBC’s "Celtics Talk Podcast" were no exception.

But at least one well-known Knicks fan took exception to their post-game comments.

“I don’t think the Knicks are doing anything particularly impressive,” Burton said after the game. But it was Forsberg — a veteran Celtics reporter with more than a decade on the beat — who put it more bluntly, when he interjected with,  “Let’s say this… they’re cockroaches.”

Knicks superfan Ben Stiller couldn’t resist chiming in, sharing a clip of the podcast on X and writing, “You have to hand it to them, they are cockroaches? Not cool Zeus.”

For clarity — the “Zeus” Stiller referenced is actually the nickname of a Formula Drift driver (also named Chris Forsberg). But given the context, it’s likely Stiller knew exactly what he was doing — using the shared name as a clever way to take a dig.

Many on social media supported Stiller’s post, with one writing, “Profoundly disrespectful what passes for a backhanded compliment in Boston these days,” and another who responded, “These Celtic peeps have zero accountability for what their own guys did (and didn’t do) on the floor tonight.”

But not everyone was upset with the comparison — as one person put it, “Well, you cannot beat roaches. It doesn't matter how many you kill, they keep coming. If we are roaches but we are up 2 because of that, let's be roaches.”
