The New York Knicks are among the several NBA teams expected to revamp their roster following the 2024-25 season.
According to SiriusXM NBA Radio’s Frank Isola, the Knicks may cut ties with a disappointing $150 million duo after the organization’s Eastern Conference Finals exit at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
“One of the reasons Mikal Bridges’ name has surfaced in trade discussions (is because he’s eligible to sign a four-year, $156 million contract extension),” Isola reported Wednesday. “Mitchell Robinson is another player being discussed.”
During the 2024 free agency period, the Knicks acquired Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets in a monster summer trade, reuniting him with Villanova teammates Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson.
Although the 6-foot-6 forward had his moments in the regular season and postseason (he notched 41 points against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 25 and 25 points against the Detroit Pistons in a first-round series-clinching win), his first campaign with the Knicks was a bit underwhelming.
From inconsistent long-range shooting performances to head-scratching off-the-dribble mid-range jumpers in traffic, Bridges didn’t play up to his potential this past season.

The 28-year-old veteran averaged 17.6 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game, shooting 50.0% from the field and 35.4% from downtown.
Robinson’s seventh season with the Knicks was far from exhilarating. The Western Kentucky product only appeared in 17 regular-season contests after rehabbing the ankle injury suffered during the 2024 postseason.
However, the physical 7-foot center was the organization’s most reliable offensive rebounder in the playoffs, averaging 3.7 boards on that end of the floor in 18 clashes.
If the Knicks part ways with Bridges and/or Robinson this summer, expect the franchise to receive a valuable haul in return.
