For the first time in 53 years, the Knicks — yes, the New York Knicks — are NBA champions. New York supporters couldn't help but celebrate the side's momentous win wildly.

Orange-and-blue-clad fans packed third places across the globe, relishing in the sight of Jalen Brunson daggers and Spurs clanks. When the final horn sounded, so did they, dancing beneath imaginary confetti. From Sutphin Boulevard to San Antonio, they were there, together as one. And for the first time in more than half a century, they were champions, too.

Knicks fans celebrate NBA championship

Knicks fans around the globe erupted with joy once the final buzzer sounded. From the thousands that pooled into Frost Bank Arena to those watching on at Madison Square Garden and beyond, orange-and-blue yelled, danced, wept and hugged as news of New York's victory streamed through.

Frost Bank Center...or Madison Square Garden South?

San Antonio is renowned for its atmosphere. On Saturday, though, Knicks fans were the dominant force at the venue. That was made abundantly clear when the action concluded and orange-and-blue-clad limbs billowed.

Madison Square Garden was a tempest of noise upon the sight of dancing New York players. You can understand why those who traipsed onto the pavement outside of New York's basketball colosseum felt so inspired to move and shout.

The Empire State Building bore the scars of New York's victory into the wee hours of Sunday morning. The hulking structure was cloaked in those all-too-familiar orange-and-blue hues.

Radio City watch party

Radio City, too, was bursting at the seams with liveliness as the result of Saturday's game was crystallized. Confetti danced atop spectators' heads as the game came to a close.

42nd Street faithful christens CNN reporter as newfound Knicks fan

Manhattan's 42nd Street filled with joy as New York hoisted the Larry O'Brien jersey. A CNN reporter soon took on the same disposition, with New York fans cloaking him in that iconic Knicks strip.

Times Square bus set on fire

Rioters in Times Square decided to celebrate by setting ablaze a school bus, but that as not all. In total, five school buses were burned in the aftermath of the Knicks win.

NYPD arrests 63 people, teenager shot in aftermath of Knicks win

ABC reported that in total, 63 people have been arrested as of 10:13 a.m. ET Sunday morning. A 17-year-old shot was also shot in the foot near 43rd and Broadway. Police took the teenager to the hospital after ambulances were unable to get to the scene. 

Later Sunday, the NYPD released details on the damage from the celebrations, including 10 police officers injured, four slashings and five school buses used to transport World Cup fans destroyed.
