Klay Thompson's girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion caught up in fake Mavericks ban rumor

Dallas Mavericks fans have been tricked into believing that one of the team's star players' girlfriends has been banned from attending his NBA games. 

Fans were duped into thinking that three-time Grammy-winner and girlfriend of Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson, Megan Thee Stallion, has been shut out from watching the Mavs play. 

The drama unfolded after a fake news story was posted on social media.

"BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks have banned Megan Thee Stallion from all home games," the caption of a post shared to X on Wed. Oct. 29 read. 

Duped fans were quick to comment on the post questioning why the decision was made, with one person writing, "This is wild. What actually happened for them to make this call."

"Why???" a second questioned. 

"D---, Mark Cuban really out here enforcing music taste at games now? What's next, a ban on popcorn?" another added.

The truth behind the Megan Thee Stallion Mavericks ban rumors 

In reality, there is no truth to the rumor. Megan Thee Stallion hasn't been banned by the Mavericks of the NBA. In fact, quite the opposite. 

The "Savage" rapper, 30, is becoming a regular at Mavs games and is frequently seen sitting courtside in support of Thompson, 35. 

Earlier this month, Megan made headlines when she sat with Thompson's mother, Julie, during the Lakers-Mavericks game in Los Angeles. Proving that their relationship is taking a serious note, the duo were all smiles as they chatted , as they watched Thompson play. 

It's still unclear how the couple first met, but Megan hard launched her relationship with Thompson back in June. 

At the time, she shared a poolside photo shoot on social media, and eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice Thompson sitting off to the distance. Thompson confirmed the dating rumors in July when shared a photo kissing the rapper on his own social media account.
