Klay Thompson ghosted Stephen Curry after deciding not to speak during Golden State return

Klay Thompson made his much-anticipated return to the Bay on Tuesday, and the Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 120-117. Stephen Curry showed quite the emotion after hitting the dagger shot near the end of the game, and Draymond Green talked about how locked in Curry was coming into the matchup on his podcast.

"Hey, listen here, big dog, I need you to be locked in," Green told Curry before the game. "Whatever it is that you need to do if that is watching this tribute video before we actually see it go up on the board, whatever it is to make sure that your emotions are where they need to be so that we are dialed in, and I am going to do the same."

Thompson's two former teammates decided to get as much of the emotion of their former championship teammates' return out of the way as early as possible.

"I hit Raymond Ridder (VP of Communications at Golden State Warriors), and I said I need to see that tribute video, and he sent it to me, and I watched the tribute video, so I got it out, and Steph got it out," said Green.

Curry played with fire from start to finished and showed no mercy to his Splash Brother.

"By the time Steph came into the game last night, he was pissed," said Green.

Fueling the fire even more, Curry apparently texted Thompson to tell him he would no longer be taking the microphone prior to tipoff, and his former running mate left him hanging.

"Steph was supposed to speak before the game. He was like, yeah, I called Raymond before the game and told him I was not speaking. I just need to lock in on the game, and I talked to Klay about it; he tried to check in on Klay about something else, and Klay ghosted him, so he got pissed," said Green.

Many more battles will surely come between these two teams, but quite the rivalry is already brewing. After seeing how the first matchup played out, NBA fans are in for a treat whenever these former teammates lace up their sneakers against one another.
