Chiefs All-Pro loves playing in Buffalo

All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones is preparing for his third career trip to Buffalo this Sunday, and it sounds like he and his teammates are fully embracing the hostile environment they are about to face.

The unbeaten Chiefs are set to start underdogs on the road at Highmark Stadium, but after knocking off the Bills in dramatic fashion during last year’s Divisional Round, the nine-year veteran said he always loves the trip to face Bills Mafia.

“I completely enjoy playing in Buffalo, they’ve got the best wings,” Jones joked in front of reporters on Thursday.

“They really do. They have some of the best wings I’ve tasted. They have a fan base very similar to ours, very in tune and very passionate about their team.”

Jones was involved in last year’s 27-24 win in Buffalo that eventually paved the way for another Super Bowl ring. But it was largely a game he might like to have back after registering only two tackles and a single hit on Josh Allen.

Overall, Jones’ career numbers against the Bills don’t leap off the page, either. In five games, including the playoffs, the former second-round pick has managed only one sack.

Also highlighting how close this rivalry has been over the last decade, Jones has played in four winning games against the Chiefs and as many losses.

“We know when we go up there, we know it’s not just the Bills we’re playing, but the fans also. It makes that game more interesting and exciting going into that type of atmosphere that is similar to our home crowd,” Jones went on to say.

At 8-2, the Bills are positioned to pose one of their biggest challenges to the Chiefs’ dynasty. Unbeaten at home this year behind a defense that has proven tough to score against, a win on Sunday would not only do wonders for their confidence but also cement Buffalo as a genuine Super Bowl contender heading into the playoffs.
