Kelly Osbourne ‘couldn’t eat,’ relapsed after dad Ozzy’s death: ‘Broken in every way’

Kelly Osbourne revealed she was “broken in every way” following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne.

During an appearance on the “We Need to Talk” podcast Tuesday, the television personality spoke candidly about how losing her father last July affected her.

“I lost my mind. I was a shell of myself,” Kelly, 41, told host Paul C. Brunson. “I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t do anything.”

“I was just empty, broken in every way a human being could possibly be broken, and completely unable to take care of myself.”

The “Osbournes” alum said she hit “ground zero” after her father’s death and ultimately began drinking again, admitting she “couldn’t handle” the loss.

“I can honestly say, today I’m eight months sober,” Kelly added. “I have the most incredible people around me. I closed my circle because I lost a lot of friends. People don’t like sadness, and they expected me to be over it.”

“And I will never be over it. I will never, ever be over it,” she concluded.

While on the podcast, Kelly also recalled the last conversation she had with her father, which took place just “three days before he died.”

“He sat me down and said, ‘Tots, I need you to know something. No matter what happens in this life, you can live the rest of your life knowing that there was one man on this planet [who] truly loved you, [who] truly loved you for every single thing you are. And that man is me,” she said.

Kelly said she began crying and begged her father not to “talk like this.”

She recalled that he responded, “You know, I’m not going to be here forever, and I know you struggle with people … believing that you are loved, but I love you more than anyone.”

The former “Fashion Police” co-host previously spoke about her weight loss following her father’s death, telling people who commented, “Get off Ozempic” to “f–k off.”

She later revealed that she wore wigs to hide the “scary” change in her appearance, saying she “looked like the f–king Crypt Keeper.”

As previously reported, Ozzy died at age 76 on July 22, 2025, and his cause of death was later revealed to be a heart attack.

A statement to Page Six at the time confirmed that Kelly and her siblings Aimee and Jack — whom Ozzy shared with his second wife, Sharon Osbourne — were by his side when he died. Son Louis — whom Ozzy shared with his first wife, Thelma Riley — was also said to have been there.

Ozzy also shared daughter Jessica with Riley, and adopted her son, Elliot Kingsley.

Kelly broke her silence in the days following her father’s death, writing on her Instagram Stories, “I feel unhappy. I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had 💔.”

Her message seemingly alluded to “Changes,” the 1972 Black Sabbath song Ozzy co-wrote and performed with the band.
