It is Masters Week in Augusta, Georgia.
While the tournament officially starts on Thursday, Aug. 9, the annual Par-3 Contest is being held on Wednesday. While the Masters is the epitome of tradition and seriousness, the Par-3 Contest is anything but.
The fan-favorite event lets golfers show more of their personalities and helps involve their families. Many participants’ caddies on Wednesday are their partners or children. It is a fun event to watch because, without fail, every year there is a memorable shot, whether it be an ace or a small child draining an absurdly long putt.
The 2026 Par-3 Contest had just begun. Justin Thomas was only on the second hole, but a viral moment had already been made. Thomas aced the second hole and instantly turned not to celebrate with his family, but to taunt Jordan Spieth and Max Homa, with whom he had made an apparent friendly wager, and wanted to let them know he was cashing in.
Here is more on Thomas’ ace at the 2026 Masters Tournament.

Justin Thomas hole-in-one video
Thomas' shot from the tee box looked like it was bouncing past the hole. The spin that he put on the shot finally kicked in, and the ball bounced back toward the hole. It dropped in the cup, and you can see him taunt his group partners for the day before celebrating with his wife and kids, who were behind him and giving him applause.

Justin Thomas Masters Par 3 Contest bet
Thomas hit a hole-in-one and was obviously ecstatic. Before celebrating with his wife and kids, he turned and signaled a money sign toward Spieth and Homa. It looked like Thomas was doing his best Johnny Manziel impression. When he was interviewed, he was asked how he thought Spieth and Homa liked seeing his shot, and he said he had about 1,000 reasons to like it more than they did.
The trio had put together an apparent ace bet, and it only took two holes for Thomas to cash it in. It is unclear whether they each owe him $1,000 or must contribute $500 apiece for a total of $1,000.
