He's turning back the clock early in his round at the 2026 edition of the tourney, so long after he once stormed through these pristine fairways toward history.
Olazabal birdied the par-5 No. 2, and then he birded the par-4 No. 3.
On a day when there weren't a ton of red-hot scores being put up early, that was enough to at least temporarily put Olazabal atop the leaderboard.
It's quite the feat for a guy who is only in the field based on his long ago championships, not for his recent accomplishments.
