Jordon Hudson turns heads with 'barely there' rope dress at Maine charity event

Jordon Hudson made a statement for marine conservation during a charity event in her home state of Maine. The girlfriend of North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick isn't afraid to be bold and proved it once again.

Hudson appeared Saturday at the 51st annual Maine Fishermen’s Forum wearing a custom-made dress constructed entirely from recovered rope, drawing attention to the environmental issue known as “ghost gear.”

The dress was created from 36 pounds of rope recovered from Hart Island in Port Clyde in 2023 and was designed in collaboration with sustainable fashion designer Runa Ray and volunteers from the Rozalia Project. It's an organization focused on cleaning marine debris from oceans and coastlines.

Hudson said the dress was meant to spark conversation about abandoned, lost or discarded fishing equipment that remains in the water and continues trapping marine life.

“Rozalia Project and I teamed up to elicit conversation about the Gulf of Maine’s sexiest problem, ghost gear,” Hudson wrote in a social media post. “It was an honor to showcase it at the Maine Fishermen’s Forum.”

"Ghost gear" refers to fishing nets, ropes and traps left in the ocean that continue to catch fish and other marine animals long after they are discarded. Hudson, who grew up in the north, has been active in regional fishing and wildlife initiatives and frequently promotes ocean conservation causes tied to the Gulf of Maine.

Her appearance also comes amid heightened public attention surrounding her relationship with Belichick, the six-time Super Bowl–winning coach who is entering his first season leading North Carolina’s football program.

Despite the spotlight, Hudson’s focus at the event remained squarely on raising awareness for Maine’s coastal environment. No doubt she left a pretty good impression.
