The Harbaugh-ism that really transported Jon Runyan Jr. back to a time when he was in the iconic maize and blue uniform was when he heard the new head coach of the Giants ask for an “enthusiasm unknown to mankind” during his introduction.
That phrase was passed down from Jack Harbaugh to his sons and is ingrained in Runyan’s mind as he prepares to suit up for John with the 2026 Giants after playing for brother Jim at Michigan (2015-19).
“Everywhere the Harbaughs go, they are winning. Plain and simple,” Runyan told The Post. “It’s exciting. That’s exactly what we need in New York right now.”
Before John accepted the job, he tapped his father to watch film on the Giants. Jack, a former college head coach, put on the Week 4 game against the Jim-coached Chargers, when the Giants ran the ball 42 times for 161 yards.
