John Wick and Saw AAA games are officially happening, as Lionsgate has made it clear that both are receiving big-budget video game adaptations. The studio announced it itself, confirming for the first time a full-scale AAA John Wick game was in active development, along with a brand-new Saw game.

Well, after years of fans asking why John Wick never got a proper game, it finally looks like that question has an answer.

Lionsgate confirms John Wick and Saw games are in the works

During Lionsgate’s Q2 2026 earnings call held on November 6, 2025, the studio openly confirmed its plans to expand into high-profile gaming projects. Speaking during the call, Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, stated that the company has multiple AAA game projects in the works tied to its major franchises.

According to Fogelson, Lionsgate is actively developing a AAA John Wick video game and a new Saw video game, the first since Saw II: Flesh & Blood released back in 2010.

He also made it clear that these projects are not just ideas or pitches, but active developments that will be officially announced soon.

John Wick finally gets the AAA treatment fans have been waiting for

For a franchise that feels tailor-made for gaming, Wick’s absence from the AAA space has always felt strange. Outside of smaller-scale releases, nothing has really captured the speed, precision, and brutality that define the films.

Lionsgate’s confirmation changes that. This upcoming game is described internally as a full AAA project, meaning a high budget, large development scope, and a serious push to compete with modern action titles.

This isn’t the first hint, either. Back in 2022, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer mentioned that the studio was 'fielding proposals' for a major Wick game. At the time, it sounded distant. Now, it’s clearly real.

What the game will actually look like is still unknown. There’s no confirmation yet on whether:

  • Keanu Reeves’ likeness will be used
  • The story will directly follow the films
  • Players will control Wick himself or a new assassin

Realistically, an original story set in the John Wick universe feels more likely, as it gives developers more freedom while still tapping into the Continental, High Table, and assassin underworld fans love.

A new Saw game is also officially on the way

Alongside Wick, Lionsgate also confirmed that a new Saw game is in development. This will be the franchise’s first video game in over 15 years, with the last entry released in 2010. While no gameplay details were shared, the Saw name immediately raises expectations around psychological horror, moral choices, and survival mechanics.

Unlike Wick, which leans into fast-paced action, Saw’s strength lies in tension, puzzles, and uncomfortable decisions, all things that translate well to interactive formats if handled carefully.
