The Nebraska volleyball team's former coach John Cook jokingly revealed Harper Murray put him on a TikTok ban with the Omaha SuperNovas. Cook retired from the team after the 2024 NCAA championships.

After serving the Huskers for 25 years, Cook is now the co-owner and general manager of the Omaha Supernovas. He has come out of the brief retirement to make a significant impact in the growing women's pro volleyball.

While he is involved with the SuperNovas, his connection with the Nebraska players hasn't worn out. In a recent media conversation, he jokingly revealed that Murray doesn't allow him to do TikToks with the SuperNovas. He said:

"Harper has already informed me several times that I am not allowed to do any TikToks with any of the SuperNovas. But I have a feeling that when after the season's over, we may change that."

Murray is currently competing in the 2025 NCAA season for the Nebraska volleyball team. Her latest appearance on the court was during the regional semi-finals against Kansas on December 12. Her team clinched the victory with a 3-0 sweep and will now face Texas A&M in the regional final.

When Nebraska volleyball's Harper Murray reacted to John Cook's emotional speech while unveiling his statue

John Cook has given 25 years of his 32-year coaching career to the Nebraska volleyball team. In September, the Husker's volleyball program celebrated his legacy and contribution to the team by honoring him with a statue.

Cook turned emotional while delivering a speech about this prestigious honor. Shortly after this, Murray spoke to Huurdat Sports, where she weighed in on her former coach's statue and his emotional speech.

"We went to his ceremony on Wednesday, so, it was really cool just to see that because we all know how much of a legacy he left here. So, being able to honor him and having a statue out there is really cool and I'm sure its cool for him but he's not gonna admit that and I know it means a lot to him and it means a lot to us too because he's the one that recruited us here and he's the one that started this program and really brought it up the past 25 years, so, I think it's just really exciting and we're grateful that he was here and he left that legacy. And he cries so it's cute," said Harper Murray.

In August, the Nebraska volleyball team's ex-coach made his feelings known about Harper Murray's massive NIL deal with Adidas.
