JJ Redick voices his frustrations about the Thunder's players fouling on every possession

The Oklahoma City Thunder have earned their way to becoming the NBA's best team and the favorite to go back-to-back champions. A big reason behind their success has been their defense, as they can suffocate their opponents.

Their defense is impressive, but they tend to get away with some physicality. That is what Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick wanted to highlight after their 125-107 Game 2 loss to the Thunder.

JJ Redick makes an honest admission about the Thunder's physicality

As one of the most cohesive teams in the league, the Thunder are a tough matchup for anyone. They have arguably the best player in the league with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the favorite to win back-to-back NBA MVPs.

Aside from SGA, the Thunder have shown that they can keep up with any team by primarily relying on their defense. Offensively, they can create shots for themselves, but their defense is suffocating and physical.

Led by players like Lu Dort and Alex Caruso, the Thunder have lockdown defenders. However, they can get away with some gamesmanship here and there.

When it becomes overly physical, the referees might not see it, but people like Redick have seen the Thunder get away with so much physicality.

"They have a few guys who foul on every possession, and all good defenses too... They're hard enough to play. You gotta be able to just call it if they foul, and they do foul," Redick said about the Thunder getting away with physicality.

Moving forward, Redick and the Lakers have to grow accustomed to this kind of play style. The Thunder are doing it to perfection, as they remain spotless in the 2026 Playoffs with six wins in the same number of games.

Redick must devise a game plan that can take down the Thunder. As the series shift to Los Angeles, that could be the opportunity the Lakers can turn this series around and get wins over the Thunder.
