Jets waiting on 2027 NFL Draft for their biggest puzzle piece

The Jets have given Geno Smith a fighting chance this season.

More importantly for the long-term plan, by adding firepower they have made the franchise more appealing to the franchise quarterback they absolutely must land in the 2027 NFL draft in a division armed with Josh Allen in Buffalo and Drake Maye in New England.

The Jets, even after a productive free agency assault, entered this draft with more than a few holes, and the biggest one remaining after their three first-round picks remains the most critical one:
