After their major fire sale at the 2025 NFL trade deadline, the New York Jets are, once again, drawing plenty of interest ahead of the 2026 NFL trade deadline.

But this time, the focus is on the offensive side of the ball with running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson. With younger players breaking out at both positions, it would seem like both could be available for trade.

However, according to The Athletic's Jonathan Jones, the Jets have "no desire" to trade either Hall or Wilson, despite all of the speculation picking up steam lately.

Jets have 'no desire' to trade Garrett Wilson or Breece Hall

"The Jets have no desire or intention to trade wide receiver Garrett Wilson or running back Breece Hall," Jones reports.

This update from Jones should not be a surprise to any Jets fans, as this was always likely to be the case. While a trade might make sense on paper, there's a good reason to avoid making such a deal.

With a rookie quarterback potentially coming into the franchise for the 2027 season, it would make a lot of sense to have a well-built infrastructure on offense for that rookie.

Having a wide receiver room of Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper Jr., and Adonai Mitchell is very appealing for a rookie QB entering the league to work with.

Breece Hall and Braelon Allen at running back, and Kenyon Sadiq and Mason Taylor at tight end are also very strong position groups that will give a rookie QB a great supporting cast the moment they enter the NFL with the Jets.

There is always a chance that the Jets get a ridiculous offer for either that's nearly impossible to turn down, but all signs are pointing towards the Jets keeping both Hall and Wilson this season despite the trade rumors about both picking up steam lately.
