Jets' Breece Hall has ideal thoughts on franchise trajectory

1 hour ago 3

The New York Jets have been in the NFL doldrums for so long, and as Aaron Glenn gets set for his second season as head coach, he now has one of his key players signed long-term.

Running back Breece Hall is now signed, sealed, and delivered for the Jets, as they keep hold of one of their key offensive players, and one they hope can be one of the driving forces for New York in 2026.

But with Breece signing his new deal, it also brings into focus the job that Glenn and Co. are building, with veteran Geno Smith being at the center of it.

And for Hall, he's happy with the trajectory of the franchise, and the fact that the Jets want him to be a focal point means the world.

"Honestly, just the fact that they brought a proven veteran in like Geno and then we drafted some really good guys … let me know that, OK, we're really trying to build something here," Hall said via NFL.com. "… It definitely meant a lot for me because they showed me and told me that they wanted me to be a part of this thing, so I'm definitely happy to be here."

Hall to be a key player in 2026

Coming off his first 1,000-yard season in 2025, Hall, along with Geno and Garrett Wilson, will now be tasked with pushing the Jets' offense to new heights.

Granted, the bar isn't exactly set too high.

But Hall's job will be a crucial one, as the Jets' run game has to be productive to take the pressure off Geno and the other skill-position players.

Year 2 for Glenn looks to be a defining one, as fans want to see genuine progress from the team, and Hall is going to have a large say in how quickly the Jets begin climbing the AFC ladder.
