Jets' Breece Hall announcement is bad news for Broncos, Chiefs, Texans

The New York Jets made an announcement on running back Breece Hall's future at the NFL scouting combine.

During a press conference on Tuesday, general manager Darren Mougey said that Hall will be with the Jets in 2026. The team will use the franchise tag on the star playmaker if they can't come to terms on an extension.

"Darren Mougey says that Breece Hall will be with the Jets next season. If they can’t sign him, then they will tag him. Hall going nowhere," Connor Hughes of SNY said on X.

Hall staying put in New York is a horrible development for running back-needy teams, especially the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans.

Denver's running game was incredibly inefficient last season, and adding Hall would've given them a much-needed boost.

The same goes for their AFC West rival, Kansas City. The Chiefs tried to acquire Hall during the 2025 trade deadline, and it looks like they're also gonna miss out on signing him.

Houston's running back room is in an uncertain spot, as Joe Mixon's future is up in the air due to a foot injury, and Woody Marks isn't capable of being a workhorse back.

With Hall likely staying with the Jets for the 2026 season, the Broncos, Chiefs, and Texans will have to find other ways to address their needs at running back.
