Jessica Simpson is putting the insane beauty-routine rumors to bed.

The singer recently gave an interview to Elle, during which she was asked about claims she spent $1,000 per week on tanning “back in the day.”

“No, $1,000? Gosh. I’d rather have lain out in the sun,” she replied.

The rumor stems from a 2014 TVNZ report that alleged Simpson had a “million dollar beauty routine.”

The outlet claimed that in addition to dropping $1,000 per week on getting bronzed, Simpson indulged in $1,000 eyelash extensions, $50,000 bust enhancements, a $230,000 on-call hairstyling team and more.

The songstress recalled, however, the lengths she had to go to in order to maintain that Daisy Duke glow while filming “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

“I had to be tan and that was a four-month shoot where I was damn near naked the whole time,” she told Elle.

“The only way to be confident then when shooting,” she added, “was to spray it, and do body makeup. But I also didn’t want it to be too orange, so I had to have a base tan. It was all thought out.”

Though Simpson calls herself a “born-and-bred Texan sun lover” whose “buns were always tan” while growing up, she clarifies that she’s changed her tune when it comes to sun health.

“Nowadays, I spray my kids when they go down to the park and am always putting it on myself too … I definitely turned it around not just because of aging, but because there are lots of hazards to it.”

Amid her separation of husband Eric Johnson (with whom she shares three children), Simpson has reportedly started dating musician Thomas Eisenhood.
