Jessica Pegula reacted to Coco Gauff being outspoken about what would suit her and Madison Keys during the outfit selection for the WTA Finals official photoshoot. Reacting to the moment, Keys also appreciated the 21-year-old’s honest opinions and mentioned how they need such honesty.

Jessica Pegula, the Grand Slam finalist, had a stellar season this year, reaching multiple Tour-level finals and amassing titles across hard-court, clay, and grass. At the Wuhan Open, after she won her match against Katerina Siniakova in the quarterfinals, the American punched her ticket to sixth on the eight-woman roster. Coco Gauff earned a qualification after her fourth-round win at the China Open, and Madison Keys entered the year-end Championships for the first time since 2016.

Before the American women began their campaigns in their respective groups, they posed in glamorous outfits for the official tournament photoshoot. An inside peek into the dressing area has been making the rounds on the internet, where Gauff was seen picking out outfits for Jessica Pegula and bluntly disapproving when she tried on a maroon ruffled dress.

"Wait, let me see? No."

The linear response left Pegula and Keys in splits.

Gauff further said:

"No, because the dress doesn't fit her and then the ruffles, but Jess knows me, its fine. I wouldn't do it for another girl."

Reflecting on the moment, Madison Keys said:

"Compliment for Coco, I love her honesty, she helped Jess and I pick our outfits for the shoot the other night. And she was not free to hold back, and we need that. We appreciate it."

Pegula shared the post on her X and wrote:

"Sometimes a girl just needs to know"

Coco Gauff will next face Aryna Sabalenka, Pegula will take on Jasmine Paolini, and Keys will meet Elena Rybakina.

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula share a great bond on and off the court. They have earned multiple wins as doubles partners and made deep runs in Grand Slam tournaments. Recently, Gauff jokingly called out Pegula when asked who among the players on tour would be most likely to ghost others.

"Jess. I mean, she has like a million times. We've been supposed to go to the movies so many times and everytime I'm like, 'let me know when you're free' and then she goes and sees the movie without me. But she is the one who initiated the movie and hangout in the first place. So, Jess. A 100%."

Gauff won the Roland Garros title this year, and Pegula reached the US Open semifinals.
