Jerry Jones responded to Micah Parsons after the Green Bay Packers' defensive end/linebacker accused the Dallas Cowboys owner of slandering his game. Jones sent Parsons to the Packers ahead of the 2025 NFL season after they couldn't agree on Parsons' contract extension.

In the wake of Trevon Diggs' arrival at the Packers, Parsons clapped back at a fan who called Diggs "the worst corner" in the NFL. After getting a lot of comments from fans, Parsons said Jones dragged his name for months, and he was just responding.

"Y’all want me to feel bad? Jerry Jones slandered my name to Cowboys media and national media for months. So I do think I can react to comment if I want to! #respectfully," Parsons tweeted on Thursday.

During a Friday appearance on 103.5 The Fan, Jones reacted by explaining why the Cowboys couldn't keep Parsons on the roster, while accepting his former player's comments.

“I wish Micah the very best. … I’d love to have Micah on the team," Jones said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. "But we just couldn’t afford him. We wanted 4-5 players more than we did him. But he’s outstanding. I understand his sensitivity and can even understand these comments.”

Micah Parsons spent five seasons with the Packers, playing 63 games with the NFC East franchise, posting 297 tackles, 65.0 sacks, 11 forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He became a four-time Pro Bowler with the "Lone Star" before taking his talents to Lambeau Field.

Jerry Jones backs Matt Eberflus after DC said Micah Parsons' departure hurt Cowboys' defense

A day after defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus admitted that not having Micah Parsons on the roster hurt the Cowboys' defense, Jerry Jones said that it wasn't just one thing that went wrong for the team.

"What that defense represents is the personnel department, that represents above that, my department," Jones said. "It represents everybody involved in contracts. We all take it, and that's no kidding." "I'll assure you, we won't walk in there and say, 'You know what, Eberflus and this guy over here and this guy over here, let's change that out and it'll all be (fine). Let's go get a Coke and let them think about it.' That's not how it works."

The Cowboys will close out the season against the New York Giants in Week 18.
