Jelly Roll unveiled his surprising new look on social media. The American musician looks almost unrecognizable.

The 40-year-old recently received three nominations for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. One of the nominations is in the Best Contemporary Country Album category for his tenth and most recent studio album, Beautifully Broken.

Jelly Roll recently posted a short clip of himself speaking about how he felt about the Grammys. He also unveiled his new look with his beard shaved off for the first time in years. The country artist joked that he resembled a Ninja Turtle as he revealed his real reason behind growing the beard.

"By now, you have probably figured out that I look like a Ninja Turtle. Yeah, this is crazy. You know, one of the reasons I’d even started growing a beard is because I was so obese, it was just easier to cover up what was happening here," he said.

Jelly Roll made his WWE debut earlier this year at SummerSlam. He teamed up with Randy Orton to wrestle Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. Unfortunately, his first match ended with The Maverick pinning him to secure the win for his team.

Jelly Roll opens up about his weight loss

Jelly Roll has been working out to lose weight for a while now. In a video recently posted on his YouTube channel, the 40-year-old noted that a lot of things change after a person starts losing weight.

The real-life Jason Bradley DeFord noted that one of the things he realized was that he did know what he looked like. The musician noted that he had not shaved his beard since he got out of jail in order to save his "double chin."

"At this point I'm sure some of y'all are exhausted hearing about my weight loss, but a lot of things change when you start losing weight. You realize things. One of the things I realized is, I don’t know what I look like. I've had a beard to try to cover up my double chin, which I still clearly have a double chin. But the last time my face was shaved, I was fresh out of jail. I got a feeling I am going to look like a Ninja Turtle, but I am going to shave my f**king face and go surprise my family," he said.

It will be interesting to see if Jelly Roll shows up in WWE before the Grammys.
