BALTIMORE — A first-inning offensive ambush Tuesday night became slightly less fun for the Yankees when Jazz Chisholm Jr. left the game with an injury.

Chisholm had appeared to tweak something on a swing during his at-bat, but after being checked on by Aaron Boone and a trainer — and twisting his core to try to stretch something out — he stayed in the game and hit the next pitch for a double into the right-field corner.

But after Chisholm dove into third base after an error on the play, he came up gingerly and seconds later was walking back into the dugout for a pinch runner.

The Yankees had gone bombs away to start the frame, with Trent Grisham, Aaron Judge and Ben Rice hitting back-to-back-to-back homers off Kyle Gibson for a 3-0 lead five pitches into the game.

Cody Bellinger also homered before Chisholm stepped to the plate, and Oswald Peraza, who pinch-ran for him at third, came in to score on Anthony Volpe’s double for the 5-0 lead.
