Jay-Z is not nervous about his Super Bowl 61 halftime show performance.

The rap icon will be hitting the stage for his first-ever Super Bowl halftime performance. On Tuesday, October 27, TMZ caught up with Jay-Z following Apple Music's Monday Night Football announcement that he would be the headliner. During their discussion, the outlet's photographer asked if he felt pressure, to which Jay responded, "No pressure."

"What's the preparation like?" TMZ followed up.

"Same as always," Jay said.

While Jay's performance might be a huge deal, the rap icon is staying cool, calm, and collected ahead of the show.

Jay's production company, Roc Nation, has been the producer behind the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019. The NFL and Roc Nation extended the contract in 2024.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell joined The Ebro Show with Ebro Darden and Eddie Francis on Tuesday when he shared how Jay one day gracing the stage was only a matter of time.

“We’ve always wanted this to happen at some point. It was something I asked him about at the time when we first started this, and he said, ‘Yeah, we’ll see. Let’s see what happens.’ But it was clear he wanted it to happen,” Goodell explained. “We’ve talked about it a couple of times.”

Goodell continued: “I think the fact that he’s in his 30th anniversary year of his first album, he just finished his tour, it’s L.A., he’s at that point as the GOAT that he’s ready for it. He was pretty clear: ‘I wanna do it this year.’ I guess I was more excited than anything, maybe a little surprised, because he keeps putting it off a little bit.”

Super Bowl 61 will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on February 14.
