Jared Goff injury update: Latest news after controversial hit briefly sends Lions QB to medical tent

With the divisional round officially underway, the Lions have taken the field for the 2025 NFL playoffs. They'll need to defeat the Commanders at home to secure a spot in the NFC Championship game for a second year in a row.

Coming into the game, the Lions' offense was the talk of the town — and deservedly so. They averaged 33.2 points per game, the highest mark since the 2019 Ravens.

Alongside their dynamic running back duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, the Detroit offense runs through quarterback Jared Goff. He's in the midst of a career year and is looking to head back to the Super Bowl for the first time since his time in Los Angeles.

While trying to push the Lions into the conference championship, Goff sustained a significant hit after throwing an interception in the second quarter. The hit was enough to send Goff to the medical tent for further evaluation. Here are the latest updates.

After throwing a pick-six that extended Washington's lead to 24-14, Goff was lit up by Frankie Luvu during the return. The hit Goff sustained was to the head and neck area, likely leading to an evaluation for a concussion.

Considering Goff is a quarterback, this is likely the hardest hit he's taken in some time. Just by the looks of it, he was certainly shaken up to some degree after the play.

After yielding to Teddy Bridgewater for a series that ended in a 61-yard Jameson Williams touchdown run, Goff returned to the game, throwing another INT to end the first half.
