James Cook For MVP? Bills' Josh Allen has high praise for RB

1 hour ago 2

Another week, another James Cook masterclass.

The Buffalo Bills' running back rushed for 117 yards on 16 carries along with a touchdown in Buffalo's 23-20 win over the Cleveland Browns.

But what made James' day special was his 44-yard touchdown.

He zigged and zagged through Cleveland's defense and rumbled into the end zone for his 11th touchdown of the season.

And his quarterback, Josh Allen, has quite a statement on James post-game.

“It's unbelievable,” Allen said of James' run. “I threw my hand up early, then I put it down. I was like, he's tackled. Then I put it up again after he ran. He's the best back in football. I don't know how awards shake out, but he should be in the running for every award. He's an absolute stud, we love having him, and he makes our offense go.”

Cook in the running for top awards?

That is Allen's thinking, anyway.

After Week 16, Cook took his total to 1,532 rushing yards along with 11 touchdowns.

Is that good? It seems good.

With Jonathan Taylor (1,443 yards) in action tomorrow against the San Francisco 49ers, he'll need his first 100+ yard game in over a month to retake the lead as the NFL's top rusher.

But as for Cook being in every award like the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year, that might be a bridge too far, Josh. Sorry.
