In what feels like a flash, Jalen Williams is entering his fifth NBA season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has already become one of the best players in franchise history, and he is hungry to do even more.

After an injury-riddled 2025-26 season, it seems that Williams is looking healthy ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. With the Thunder being tapped as one of the favorites yet again, J-Dub definitely has a lot of responsibilities to shoulder.

Jalen Williams is excited to contribute for the Thunder in the 2026-27 season

In the 2025-26 season, Williams only got to play 33 games in the regular season and 5 games in the Playoffs. It was certainly a disappointing year for Williams, especially since the Thunder were the defending champions.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander needed a co-star out there, especially with Chet Holmgren having mighty struggles. Williams would have played his secondary star role, but his injuries kept hampering him.

Ahead of the new 2026-27 season, it seems that Williams is healthy now. He has gotten past all the injuries he suffered from the previous campaign, and he is looking forward to his fifth year in the league.

"It's just a blessing to be in the NBA for that long already. The average time you're in the NBA is about three years, so it's one of those things I'm blessed enough to get a second contract, be on a good team, be healthy. I think I have more enthusiasm for basically a year without playing," Williams said in his youth basketball camp.

This is amazing news for Thunder fans because they have wanted to see Williams back in action. The Thunder went through some major changes in the offseason, which makes Williams' role even more important, so him being healthy is a good sign for their goals.
