Jalen Brunson is well aware of a core issue the Knicks have learned from this postseason

The New York Knicks have been one of the best teams in the Playoffs this season. It has been a spectacular run, as they have only lost two games in the 2026 postseason. That is a massive improvement from how they struggled in the first few games.

Against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Knicks showed why they are the favorites in the Eastern Conference. They had a bit of a wobble against the Atlanta Hawks, but Jalen Brunson and the Knicks seem to have solved the problem.

Throughout the Knicks' Playoff runs over the past few seasons, they have had times when they struggle in the most crucial moments. Against the Hawks, there were some problems that were exposed by CJ McCollum and the rest of the team.

Since then, the Knicks have learned how to play in high-pressure games. They want to keep the pressure on their opponents, which can be the key to the Knicks winning in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Brunson does not want to experience the Knicks' struggles in the Playoffs again. That is why they are locked in for the series against the Cavaliers because they want to prove they are way past their issues.

"Obviously,  I think it happened this year when we played Atlanta. We let our foot off the gas; even in Game 1, we won, but in Game 2, we lost. It's something that we have to keep getting better at, I think we have, but we can't be satisfied," Brunson said ahead of Game 1 against Cleveland.

Keeping the foot on the gas will be a big part of how they can beat Cleveland. The Knicks are the favorites, but the Cavaliers can be tough to beat, especially when their backs are against the wall.
