Jalen Brunson is already excited for the Knicks' opening night game against the 76ers

The Knicks should have a tougher time playing against this 76ers team because they have found new reinforcements in the form of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown. This 76ers team is more dangerous than before, and they are ready to compete with the Knicks for the Eastern Conference crown.

Jalen Brunson gets honest about the upcoming opening night clash against the 76ers

The opening night game will be played on October 20, 2026 at Madison Square Garden. Since it is their first game back at MSG, this will also be a special night for the Knicks because they will have a championship banner ceremony. 

It will be an interesting night because that could motivate the 76ers. Philly is not a pushover anymore because they have secured two more superstars to add to their roster. However, the Knicks are ready to prove why they are winners.

As the Knicks' superstar and leader, Brunson is obviously ecstatic about opening night. "Fireworks for sure. I mean they’re going to be electric; they’re going to be definitely a team to keep your eye on. They reloaded this year. It’s going to be a tough test. But will be ready," Brunson said about the opening night game on Today.

As the Knicks continue to have fun celebrating as champions, this will be the chance they lock back in. They now have targets on their backs, and it will be quite clear that there are opponents gunning for them. The 76ers are among them, and they might prove to be the most dangerous one with the addition of two superstars to pair with their core of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe.
