Only eight games remain in the New York Knicks' regular season campaign. They are two games behind the Boston Celtics who hold the second seed and are in danger of getting usurped by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the third seed. It did not help that they had just lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Hornets too. So, Jalen Brunson plans on getting things rolling for them in preparation for the NBA Playoffs. He did not quite like those two losses where they lost by 11 points in both games.
Brunson urges other Knicks to blaze up before NBA Playoffs
Look, a lot of things can happen in these last eight games. They can win all of them and, with luck on their side, still notch the top seed in the Eastern Conference. On the other hand, they can fall as far as the seventh seed if this streak of consecutively losses continue to bother them. Brunson had an easy message for his teammates and that is to wake up. He wants every person on the squad to show that they are title contenders and these past two losses were not something to worry about, via James L. Edwards III of The Athletic.
"We don’t want to turn on a switch. We want to be trending in the right direction as we come down to the end. There are still things we need to work on. I’ve always said we don’t want to be a finished product. We want to get better and better, even in the playoffs. There are obviously a lot of things we need to work on as a team, and if we want to do the things we said we want to do, we’ll do it," the Knicks superstar declared.
The Knicks were doing great in the past few weeks. In fact, they have won seven out of their last 10 games which is unbelievable. However, these games against the Thunder and Hornets were not a good sign of things to come for the NBA Playoffs.
This squad has the depth and talent to win the Larry O'Brien trophy but they still need the momentum to carry their success over to the postseason. What do they need for that to happen? It's all about wins and the Knicks need those eight victories to prove that they belong.
