The Milwaukee Brewers began their 2026 regular season play against the Chicago White Sox in Milwaukee, and it's gotten off to a strong start.

Through five innings, the Brewers have put up eight runs and look to be on their way to an Opening Day win. But that's not all. Jacob Misiorowski had a fantastic start.

"Jacob Misiorowski in season debut: 5 IP, 1 ER, 11 K (Brewers Opening Day record), 2 H, 3 BB, 25 Whiffs, 58% Whiff rate, Topped out at 101.1 MPH," Underdog MLB shared.

Misiorowski finished his Opening Day start for the Brewers in 2026 with 11 strikeouts, which is the most by any pitcher on Opening Day for the Brewers in franchise history.

He looked great, and while Chase Meidroth hit a home run for Misiorowski's first batter of the game, the Brewers' flame-throwing righty bounced back and shut down the White Sox lineup.

This Opening Day performance was a record-breaking one for the 23-year-old righty, as he recorded more strikeouts than any Brewers pitcher has on Opening Day.

Now, through the first game of the season, the Brewers' new ace after trading Freddy Peralta has a 1.80 ERA, which, compared to Peralta's 7.20 ERA in his first start for the New York Mets, is a good start to the year for the Brewers' ace change.
