Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell has officially arrived among the NFL’s elite.
After a dominant 2025 campaign, Campbell made his debut on the NFL Top 100 Players list, checking in at No. 88. The recognition comes after the third-year linebacker established himself as one of the league’s premier defensive playmakers and a cornerstone of Detroit’s defense.
Campbell appeared in all 17 games and put together a remarkable statistical season, recording 176 tackles, nine tackles for loss, five sacks and two fumble recoveries. His 176 tackles ranked second in the NFL, highlighting both his consistency and ability to make plays from sideline to sideline.
The former first-round pick also collected his first Pro Bowl selection and earned First-Team All-Pro honors, signaling his emergence as one of the league’s top linebackers.
Beyond the traditional statistics, Campbell’s advanced metrics paint an even more impressive picture. According to Pro Football Focus, he finished as the NFL’s highest-graded linebacker against the run with an outstanding 93.0 grade while ranking second overall among all linebackers with a 90.2 defensive grade. He also proved to be effective in pass coverage, posting a 71.4 coverage grade, which ranked 12th among players at his position.
Campbell’s ability to impact opposing quarterbacks also took a significant leap in 2025. He more than doubled his previous career sack total of 3.5 by finishing with five sacks, while generating pressure at an impressive rate.
Campbell posted career highs with a 15.2% quarterback pressure percentage, 100 defensive stops and seven quick quarterback pressures—defined as pressures occurring in under three seconds. Perhaps even more impressive is that those numbers came despite blitzing on a career-low 17.7% of his pass-rush opportunities, showcasing his efficiency as a disruptive defender.
Detroit rewarded Campbell’s breakout season by signing him to a contract extension in May, ensuring one of the franchise’s defensive leaders remains in place for years to come.
At just 25 years old, Campbell appears to be entering the prime of his career. His first appearance on the NFL Top 100 may simply be the beginning, as expectations continue to rise for one of the league’s fastest-rising defensive stars heading into the 2026 season.
