The Detroit Lions locked up one of their franchise cornerstones on Thursday in a mega deal.
On Thursday, Campbell himself announced on the Lions' social media accounts that he has signed a long-term extension with the team.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later reported that the deal is for four years, but none of the terms beyond that were revealed.
"The #Lions and star LB Jack Campbell have agreed to terms on a 4-year deal, source said. No fifth-year option, just a big money contract instead," Rapoport said.
However, we finally know what the new contract looks like for Campbell as he enters his fifth NFL season.
Jack Campbell contract details
According to Rapoport, Campbell's extension with Detroit is four years at $81 million with $51.5 million guaranteed. That is an average annual value of $20.25 million.
"The #Lions and Pro Bowl LB Jack Campbell agreed to terms on a 4-year, $81M contract extension, sources say. He gets $20.25M per year with $51.5M guaranteed," Rapoport said on X.
The deal makes Campbell the second-highest-paid off-ball linebacker on a year-to-year basis, only behind Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers, who is making $21 million annually.
Campbell is coming off a career year in 2025, where he tallied 176 tackles and five sacks with 68 defensive stops. The Iowa product also earned his first Pro Bowl selection and a first-team All-Pro nod.
The 25-year-old's physicality and savvy playstyle make him a perfect fit as the captain of Dan Campbell and Kelvin Sheppard's defense. And now, Campbell is locked in with the Lions until 2030 as Detroit looks to contend for a Super Bowl.
