Ja’Marr Chase shared his feelings on the current state of the Cincinnati Bengals following the loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals were handed a 24-0 loss by the Ravens at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, effectively ruling them out of the playoffs for the third straight season.

In his postgame interview, Chase was questioned about what he would change this offseason in the Bengals team. While he refrained from pointing out anything specific that needed to be altered, it was evident that the star wide receiver is not satisfied with the state of the team.

“If I had to say so, it would probably be something,” Chase said. “But I don't know what I could do. So, all I could do is control what I could control.”

Ja’Marr Chase was also questioned on what he thinks about having a much harder outing this year than in past seasons. The Bengals, who dropped to a 4-10 record on Sunday, ended the last two seasons with nine wins. However, they can no longer get up to that in 2025.

“Shitty start off, I could say,” Chase said. But that don't mean nothing. You know what I'm saying? At the end of the day, we still have the opportunity to put ourselves in position with the close games and we didn't. So we just gotta find a way to execute and win games going forward.”

Ja’Marr Chase on Joe Burrow’s evaluation of his own performance

Joe Burrow was hard on himself in his postgame press conference on Sunday after being shut out by the Baltimore Ravens. The sixth-year quarterback described it as the worst game he's ever played. Ja’Marr Chase was questioned about his thoughts on Burrow in his locker room interview.

“I've known Joe for a long time, and at the end of the day, I know what he's capable of,” Chase said. “I know when he's off. I know when he's on. But I got to find a way to help him. If he's off or on, it don't matter. I got to be there for him, encourage him, just do whatever I can for him.”

Chase was subsequently questioned on what it feels like to see Burrow go hard on himself for his performance against the Ravens.

“He just really loves the game,” Chase said after pausing for a while. “He just wants to be great at the end of the day and I can respect that from him, but like he told me, I ain't gonna let him kill himself mentally by just one game he played better.”

Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow have been teammates since their college football days. They both played at LSU and were important members of the iconic 2019 national championship-winning team. This has helped the two build a connection on and off the field.
