Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY competed in an eight-woman tag team match on the January 2 edition of WWE SmackDown. SKY pinned Kairi Sane to beat the Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend ahead of their Women's Tag Team Championship match on January 5.

Rhiyo also had a backstage interview segment with Cathy Kelley, where Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss told them that they were next in line for the tag titles. Kelley and Ripley are considered former lovers as part of a running joke, as she has seemingly been replaced by SKY. Kelley recently posted a video of Ripley and SKY hugging for warmth backstage on Instagram.

SKY reposted the video on her Instagram story and apologized to Kelley, Ripley's 'ex,' for getting intimate with her.

"I'm sorry @cathykelley," SKY wrote.

Rhea Ripley made another appearance on WWE SmackDown

Surprisingly, the backstage segment was not the last fans saw of the former Women's World Champion on the Friday Night Show. Ripley made a surprise appearance later in the night, coming to the assistance of her Terror Twin, Damian Priest.

The former Judgment Day member was set to face Aleister Black in an Ambulance Match, and as expected, was distracted by Zelina. However, Ripley appeared in the arena to help Priest by taking out the former Women's United States Champion. On X/Twitter, The Eradicator posted a picture of Priest backstage with an ice bag on his head after the brutal match, writing:

"I’m here to help! 😁👍🏼."

This allowed Priest to capitalize and win the match after throwing his rival off the roof of the ambulance and shutting the doors with Black lying inside. The feud between the two seems to be over, and Damian Priest has Ripley to thank for the timely assistance.
