"It's very concerning": Kendrick Bourne spills beans on Brandon Aiyuk mystery 9 days after 49ers WR was speeding over 100 MPH 

San Francisco 49ers wideout Kendrick Bourne appeared on the "Speakeasy" show on Monday night and was asked about his teammate Brandon Aiyuk, whose situation with the team has deteriorated in recent months. Just over a week ago, Aiyuk posted a video of himself on social media in which he was driving his Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing at 104 mph on a freeway near Levi's Stadium.

When asked about the mystery surrounding Aiyuk's situation at San Francisco, Bourne shed light on the issue with some behind-the-scenes details on the WR.

“When I first got in the building, I missed Week 1,” Bourne said. “I saw him (Aiyuk) a little bit, so I didn’t really know what was going on. I was just pouring into him like, 'Hey, man, how are you doing?' Seeing him in the sauna sometimes, rehabbing. Then all the things happened. “So he’s MIA, too, within the building, man. So it’s been tough. I’ve been praying for him, man, because I know how tough it is when you’re chasing certain things and what you gain. So it’s concerning, it’s very concerning. So all I can really do is pray for him.”

Aiyuk has not played for the 49ers since injuring his knee against the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 20, 2024. In July, San Francisco voided the guaranteed money in Aiyuk's contract that he was supposed to get in 2026, since he reportedly failed to meet contract stipulations, including missing team activities and rehab sessions.

The 49ers drafted Aiyuk in the first round in 2020. He helped them reach the Super Bowl in 2024, when San Francisco lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kendrick Bourne's 49ers (12-4) will face the Seattle Seahawks (13-3) in Week 18 of the 2025 NFL season on Saturday. The game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium in San Francisco.

The winner of the 49ers-Seahawks game will win the NFC East and earn the top seed in the conference.

Bourne, who is in his second stint with the 49ers, has posted 551 yards on 37 receptions this season.
