WWE entered a new era, and the first Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown of 2026 are scheduled to take place in a few days. Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey confirmed that she won't return to the promotion for another run.
Ronda Rousey left the Stamford-based promotion in 2023 when she put Shayna Baszler over as a performer under Triple H's creative regime and tapped out to The Queen of Spades at SummerSlam. It's been over two years since she last wrestled inside the ring, and she was recently seen training and getting back in shape.
In an appearance on Bertcast, the former WWE RAW and SmackDown Women's Champion was asked about her return to the Stamford-based promotion. Rousey stated she was ecstatic for a second run in the company, but the shift in power at the time didn't help her case. Moreover, she stated she probably won't return for another run and has been thankful for the experience and her contributions to the industry.
"The first time? Yeah. I was like, 'Oh yeah. I'll do it even better the next time, you know. And then when I went back, it was like the death rows of the Vince McMahon era, and it was not what I expected. So, I'm probably not going to be going back. I'm grateful for the experience and that I was able to help the women to get to the main event of WrestleMania. But, you know, it's not my circus, not my monkeys," Rousey said. Why won't Ronda Rousey return to WWE for another run?
The highlight of Ronda Rousey's career in the Stamford-based promotion was arguably her first run on the red brand. She dominated the competition and eventually headlined WrestleMania. However, The Baddest Woman on the Planet's second run failed in comparison to her first run.
In an interview with WrestleZone from 2024, the multi-time WWE women's champion addressed the negative experience she had in the company as a performer primarily under the people who were working with Vince McMahon. While she applauded the changes in Triple H's creative regime, Rousey stated she has no desire to return.
